For Superintendent of Osage and Riceville schools Barb Schwamman, last week was a pretty memorable one. Osage Volleyball won the 3A state championship and Riceville held a ribbon cutting for their multi-million dollar activity center.
Schwamman says the driving force for building the activity center was because in past years, student athletes were forced to practice during school hours. Now that they have more gym space, this is no longer an issue.
The activity center has been open for practices and gym classes since September – now it is open to the public.
Schwamman says it is a great addition to the community.
Interestingly so, one can get a lifetime membership from the activity center for a round price of $1000.
