‘Parkside Housing Project’ has groundbreaking; more Charles City housing inbound

In a concerted effort to bring needed housing to the Charles City area, the city, Crown Point Builders, and Stewart Reality have all teamed up for the ‘Parkside Housing Project’. And today the gold spades were out for the official groundbreaking.

City officials, realtors, and builders all met in the field where Jefferson School used to sit – with the same dream of supplementing Charles City’s housing shortage.

This project will hopefully create 20+ new units of housing and they will all be net-zero – which means the houses are capable of creating as much energy as it uses.

The project has already started and the houses will be constructed through the winter. Mayor Dean Andrews believes the project is in steady hands.

According to Stewart Reality, the Parkside houses will have a starting price of $235,000. For more information, call 641-228-1111.
