Floyd County Conservation announce ‘Wentland Woods’ closed to deer hunting this season

In Iowa, deer hunting season runs until the first couple weeks of December. But according to Floyd County Conservation’s Heide Reams, there is one woodland area that can’t be used at all this season.

Wentland Woods was going to be undergoing a tree harvesting project last year until it was rescheduled for this year. Reams says with all of the chainsaws and workers, it wouldn’t be safe to allow any hunting in those woods.

Reams says for anybody still wanting to deer hunt in the county, there are still opportunities.
