Osage school district finishes semester; face-to-face the entire time (80-20 model)

For the Osage School District, it is time for a mini victory lap. The school system made it the whole semester without having to change their learning model and were in-person the entire time.

Something Superintendent Barb Schwamman first thought was just a pipe dream:

There was a point in early to mid-November where most of the state was racking up virus cases and even forced schools like Charles City to revert back to the hybrid model of learning.

Schwamman says they stayed open because they realized a trend: their kids weren’t really getting the virus inside the school buildings.

Schwamman says she is proud of her faculty and staff – but she realizes they need a break.
