Winter storm drops between 2 to 6 inches across local area

Charles City, Iowa – The first winter storm of the year for many of us has come and gone and while the heaviest amounts were found to the south of the local listening area, down by Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, north Iowa did pick up light to moderate snow accumulations.

Some snow totals across our area included:

Wadena – 6”

Mason City – 3.5”

New Hampton – 3”

Riceville – 2.5”

Clear Lake – 2.5”

Calmar – 2.3”

Near Decorah – 2”
