Minnesota man injured in crash near Tripoli

Tripoli, IA – A Minnesota man was injured in a crash with a tanker truck last week.
The accident occurred last Friday morning shortly after 10am at the intersection of Highway 63 and 160th Street, just west of Tripoli.
According to the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, a tanker truck driven by 64 year old George Korfe of Long Prairie, MN was traveling north on Highway 63 when he rear-ended a dump truck driven by 57 year old Mark Ackerson of Sumner.
Korfe was life-flighted to Mayo in Rochetser.
Agencies that assisted at the scene included the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Tripoli Fire and Ambulance, Frederika Fire and First Responders, Iowa DOT, Iowa State Patrol and Rasmusson’s Towing.
