Charles City, IA – Winter weather will again impact a good portion of the listening area beginning early Thursday morning and continuing through Friday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Chickasaw, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek counties. Blizzard Warning has been issued for the remainder of the listening area.

The bulk of the snow will fall during the day Thursday with travel conditions quickly deteriorating rapidly. Northwest winds will then ramp up Thursday afternoon with gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range into the overnight hours which could cause blizzard conditions across the area.
Travel could become dangerous in some areas later Thursday afternoon into the overnight.
There’s some uncertainties on storm strength which would influence how much snow could fall but as of Wednesday morning, 2 to 4 inches is expected with higher amounts possible.
