There wasn’t much to “party about” in 2020 thanks to COVID-19, which cancelled one of Charles City’s most popular summer events.
But after a one-year hiatus, the “Party in the Park” Friday night series of entertainment is set to return to Central Park starting next month. Main Street Charles City Events Coordinator Joanna Thompson says citizens and organizers are eager to get back to the festivities.
The first “Party in the Park” is June 11th with an “Old Timey” theme in honor of a simpler time. The theme for July 30th is “Science Friday” and August 13th will be “Arts in the Park” night. Admission is free for each night’s festivities which run from 5 to 9 p.m. and will feature a special live music act, plus a beer garden and various activities for all ages.
Thompson says volunteers are needed to help with the event and those interested can contact Main Street Charles City for more information.
