Last week, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommended Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine be made available to 12-15-year-olds and that vaccinations of adolescents can begin immediately.
Hy-Vee in Charles City is now offering the Pfizer shot to kids 12-15 and Pharmacist Melissa Jenkins says the timing’s right to make the vaccine available.
Jenkins says adolescents can expect reactions to the vaccinations to be similar to those in adults.
Jenkins adds all Hy-Vees have the Pfizer vaccine available for any 12 or older with no appointments necessary, but if you’d like to schedule an appointment, CLICK HERE.
The vaccines for 12-15-year-old are also expected to be available in the coming weeks through Floyd County Public Health (FCPH). For any additional questions, call FCPH at 641-257-6111 or your local healthcare provider.
