A Minnesota man has died in a one-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in northern Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says 26-year-old Mohamud Ahmed Mohamud of Saint Paul was killed when the vehicle he was driving southbound on Interstate 35 left the roadway for an unknown reason just before 4 a.m. Mohamud’s vehicle struck the cable barriers at around mile marker 203 before colliding with a concrete bridge pillar.
Mohamud was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation. The Worth County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa DOT, and the Hanlontown, Fertile and Mason City fire departments also assisted at the scene.
