Charles City Schools to Hire COVID Coordinators

The Charles City School District is looking to hire two COVID coordinators.

At their regular meeting Monday night, Superintendent Mike Fisher told the School Board they will utilize Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSR) funds to pay for two stipend positions.

Fisher says he’s handled most COVID-related matters throughout the school year and the hiring would allow duties to be shifted to the COVID coordinators.

He also added that the high school will host a COVID vaccination clinic Tuesday, June 1st from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The district hopes to get more 12-to-15-year-olds vaccinated, but the Hy-Vee Pharmacy will be on hand to administer the free Pfizer vaccine to anyone in the community who wants one.
