It’s North Iowa against New York in a battle of the burgers.
Earlier this month, Bambino’s in Ossian was voted Iowa’s Best Burger for 2021 in the annual contest sponsored by the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and the Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC). But how does it stack up against out-of-state competition?
The IBIC and New York Beef Council (NYBC) are putting their state’s best burgers to the test for bragging rights of the ultimate best burger. Consumers have a chance to cast their vote for either New York’s Hot and Smokey Candied Bacon Burger or Iowa’s Bambino Burger, referenced as “the burger-lovers burger.” Bambino’s owner Sue Lieanu says their approach is simple.
The Best New York Burger comes from the Ale ‘n Angus Pub in downtown Syracuse featuring an 8-ounce Angus beef patty with jack cheese, candied bacon, house-made onion spread, chipotle mayonnaise, and honey. It’s only appropriate that the best burg competition is between Bambino’s and the home of New York baseball legend, Babe Ruth, who’s nickname was The Great Bambino.
Iowans are encouraged to cast their vote for Bambino’s in Ossian by midnight May 30th. You can vote through the Iowa Beef Council Facebook page
