Osage Wins First-Ever Trophy at Girls State Track Meet

Starting Saturday in 20th place with just eight points, the Osage girls track team surged on the final day of the State High School Track and Field Championships to win the school’s first-ever state trophy.

The Green Devils finished in third place overall in Class 2A. Head Coach Tom Muller says he’s proud of how the girls responded.

The Osage tandem of Ainsley Dodd, Claudia Aschenbrenner, Brooklyn Halbach and Paige Kisley are the state champs in the girls Class 2A shuttle hurdle relay. Kisley also took third in the 100 meter hurdles while the Green Devils’ Meredith Street was state runner-up in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes and took 5th in the 400 meter dash. Kisley, Street, Azure Christensen and Addyson Grimm teamed up to take 4th place in the 800 meter sprint medley.

It’s been a stellar 2020-21 school year for Osage girls athletics. In November, the Green Devils’ volleyball team claimed Class 3A state title, the first state crown in school history.
