Charles City Grocery Store Gives Helping “Paw” to  Humane Society

While some like to lend a helping hand, others are lending a helping paw.

PAWS Humane Society of Charles City has been selected as a beneficiary for the month of June in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program.

PAWS Assistant Manager Jacie Garden says they’re thankful for Hy-Vee’s efforts to support local non-profits like theirs.

Each reusable bag costs $2.50 and PAWS receive a $1 donation from every purchase unless otherwise directed by the customer.  Garden says the funds generated from the sale of the bags will help PAWS continue to offer top notch vet care to all of our animals at the shelter. She adds they can always use more volunteers to help provide that care.
