Kids preschool through fifth grade are invited to participate in the Kim & Dean Marzen Memorial Bike Rodeo Saturday morning hosted by the Charles City Police Department.
After being cancelled last year due to COVID-19, Officer Duane Ollendick says this year’s event is back and almost back to its normal format.
Ollendick adds they’ll draw for bike winners at about 10:45 a.m. and kids must be present to win.
He says no pre-signup is required, but they’re expecting 75-100 kids to participate. Kids will be able to register their bike with the police department to help make it easier to recover if the bike is stolen and they can test their riding skills on the obstacle course.
Ollendick says 6-8 police officers will be on for the bike rodeo which runs from 9 to 11 a.m. in the parking lot behind city hall and the library, next Hot Shots Billiards.
