New Hampton Police Chief Salutes Former Officer Svec

Funeral services for 95.1 The Bull and Fabulous 1580 radio personality, Bob Svec, will be held Saturday (06.05) morning at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in New Hampton.

Svec made a move into a radio career after he left the New Hampton Police Department in 2016 due to health issues. Police Chief Zach Nosbisch says, “I was lucky enough to serve with Bob, not only on the Police Department, but also on Chickasaw County Rescue Squad and New Hampton Ambulance. Bob was all about serving his community, especially being a good role model for children. Bob would always have a joke (or two) to tell and was the mastermind of a few good pranks. Working alongside Bob, it was clear he enjoyed being a police officer and giving back to the community through his volunteer work. He will be missed by many.”

Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 PM today (06.04) at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. A large turnout to pay respects to Svec is expected. The funeral service will also be available via Conway-Markham Funeral Home’s Facebook Live on Saturday.

Svec passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes this past Monday.

Online condolences may be left at Memorials may be directed to the family.
