Lots of milk-related fun marks the return of Dairy Days this Tuesday and Wednesday in Fredericksburg.
Dairy Days board member Aaron Rethamel says after COVID-19 forced the cancellation of all festivities last year, they’re ready to lead north Iowa back to summer fun.
Rethamel says while Dairy Days didn’t lose much financially last year, they also didn’t make any money. He says the bigger impact was felt by Fredericksburg businesses due to the absence of visitors reflected by their motto, “Dairy Days, when a town of 1,000 becomes 10,000.”
In addition to the carnival rides and two parades, festivities include the kiddie tractor pull, bingo, car cruise, fireworks Tuesday night, and comedian Scott Long performs Wednesday night. Rethamel says this year’s theme is “Saved by the Cowbell.”
But, don’t expect appearances by any of the crew from Bayside High.
