After a one-season hiatus brought on by COVID-19, the “Party in the Park” Friday night series of entertainment returns to Central Park in Charles City this week. Main Street Charles City Events Coordinator Joanna Thompson says citizens and organizers are eager to get back to a favorite summer tradition.
Each “Party in the Park” runs from 5 to 9 p.m. in Central Park with activities for all ages, plus live music and a beer garden. Thompson says the first party this Friday night will have an “Old Timey” theme in honor of a simpler time.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Chuck Chip tokens to pay for food, drinks, and games are available on site or in advance at the Charles City Community Development office. Past year’s Chuck Chips will not be accepted.
“Party in the Park” is also schedule for July 30th with a “Science Friday” theme and August 13th is “Arts in the Park” night.
