A 2021 Charles City grad is the 2021 Floyd County Fair Queen..
Gillian Anderson was crowned fair queen Friday and says it’s a position she’s had her eye on.
Anderson has been involved with Charles City FFA since she was a freshman and was the North Central District Vice-President the past year. She adds becoming the fair queen is an extension of her love for agriculture.
Anderson says she will study animal science at Iowa State University, where her parents Craig and Lisa Anderson also attended college.
She says her first public appearance as fair queen would normally be during the Fourth of July parade in Charles City. However, since the Floyd County Fair was cancelled last year, 2019 Fair Queen Anna Krumwiede will take her place next month and Anderson will take parade duties in 2022.
