Three people were arrested following an investigation of suspicious activity Wednesday in north Iowa.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to a canoe access in Elgin shortly after 5 p.m. Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation with multiple interviews leading to a series of arrests and search warrants executed on multiple vehicles.
Arrested was 39-year-old Mikel Normann of West Union, charged with driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. 37-year-old Shane Howard, Junior of Wadena was a charged with possession of methamphetamine over five grams with intent to deliver, a class B felony, possession of controlled substance methamphetamine first offense, and possession of controlled substance marijuana first offense, both serious misdemeanors, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Also arrested was Ashley White, who’s age and address was not available. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine over five grams with intent to deliver, a class B felony, plus, possession of controlled substance marijuana third offense and possession of controlled substance methamphetamine third offense, both class D felonies.
Authorities also seized almost 70 grams of methamphetamine, almost 20 grams of marijuana, multiple vials of THC oils, and over $2800 cash.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa State Patrol and West Union Police Drug Canine.
