Still Time to Enter Charles City 4th Parade

Entries for the Charles City Fourth of July Celebration Parade are still being accepted through the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber Director Mark Wicks says this year’s parade and some other activities traditionally presented on July 4th will be moved up a day to avoid conflict with church activities that Sunday.

Parade entry fee is $10 except for non-profit organizations, which can participate for free. If an entry has more than two vehicles, there is an additional $5 fee per vehicle.

Wick adds, despite the parade date change, Fourth of July 2021 in Charles City will resemble it’s more traditional format after COVID-19 caused organizers to change their approach last year. One noticeable new addition: a synthetic ice skating rink.

Earlier this week, the chamber also announced that the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show will be relocated to the southern edge of town on Sunday, July 4th for the second straight year due to ongoing construction of the new law enforcement center at the Floyd County Courthouse as well Highway 18/Brantingham Street in Charles City.
