North Iowa Authorities Investigate Homicide in Algona

Three people are dead in what north Iowa authorities are treating as a homicide investigation.

The Algona Police Department says they received a 911 call reporting a homicide shortly before 8 p.m. Monday night in the 400 block of South Harlan Street. When officers arrived, they discovered the bodies of three deceased individuals. 

Police say the investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public. The names of the victims have not been identified and autopsies will be conducted by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Kossuth County Medical Examiner and Kossuth County Attorney, along with the Iowa State Patrol, Algona EMS, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation also assisted with investigation of the incident.
