A house and its contents are considered total losses following a fire early Monday morning on the southside of Clear Lake.
The Clear Lake Fire Department says they responded to the report of a house fire at 15-274 Pascal St. shortly before 2 a.m. When crews arrived they found flames coming out of the front side of the home through a sliding glass door. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, preventing further spread to the neighboring homes.
No injuries were reported and an initial investigation determined the cause to be from an overheated power cord to a window air conditioner.
The Ventura Fire Department, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department, and Alliant Energy also assisted at the scene.
