Businesses expanding and/or opening new facilities along South Grand Avenue in Charles City are getting some help moving forward from the City Council.
City Administrator Steve Diers says the council’s approval of a development agreement with Mike Molstead Motors comes as the auto dealer adds almost 12,000 square feet to their service and parts department.
Diers says the dealership will receive about $110,000 in tax increment financing rebates over the five years of the agreement.
The council also approved an extension for the parking lot pavement project associated with Vermeer opening an implement dealership in Charles City.
Diers adds Vermeer has purchased the former Marzen’s Towing building and is in the process of rehabbing and updating the facility.
