Two people arrested in connection with a drug bust in Charles City five months ago are pleading not guilty to the charges against them.
In June, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old Valerie Frascht of Charles City and 26-year-old Blake Steege of Fredericksburg in connection with the February 9th incident in the 800 block of 8th Avenue in Charles City. A home search discovered substances believed to be narcotics and the two suspects were officially charged last month after Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation lab tests confirmed the substances were almost 77 grams of methamphetamine and over 36 grams of marijuana.
Frascht is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Steege is accused of possession with intent to deliver meth. Both have pleaded not guilty to their charges.
Frascht and Steege are scheduled to stand trial on August 3.
