New Hampton Water, Sewer Billing Takes on New Look

New Hampton Water, Sewer Billing Takes on New Look

Bills for the new water, sewer and infrastructure fees which took effect for New Hampton residents and businesses July 1st, now also come with a new look.

Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says residents will no longer receive a postcard bill when the new schedule for permit fees approved last week by the City Council takes effect on Monday, July 12th.

Increases in New Hampton’s water, sewer and infrastructure fees are being incrementally phased in over the next six years out of necessity. Since the rates haven’t increased in several years, Schwickerath says the city is behind in making vital improvements, including to the city’s outdated water treatment facility which must be upgraded by 2032, a project that could cost between $16-$18 million.
