While positivity rates for new cases remain low, health officials are still encouraging those who haven’t been vaccinated yet to get their COVID-19 shot.
Floyd County Public Health Administrator Gail Arjes says about 42% of the county’s residents have been vaccinated and how to get that rate higher has been tough to solve.
Arjes says the data supports that getting Iowans vaccinated has helped curb the spread of the coronavirus.
As of Sunday (07.11), the Iowa Department of Public Health’s COVID vaccination dashboard indicated only one positive case in the previous seven days in Floyd, Chickasaw, Butler and Worth counties; Bremer County had three positive cases, Cerro Gordo six and Franklin County seven. Howard County had zero positives cases during the same 7-day period.
