Street, Stop Signs Run Over in Howard County

Officials in north Iowa are investigating the destruction of street signs in Lime Springs last weekend.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office says around 9:15 p.m. Friday July 9th, several street signs on the west side of Lime Springs and the stop sign on Highway 63 by Casey’s were intentionally run over. There was also damage to a permanent barricade intended to stop access to an unsafe bridge on Lilac Avenue, south of 40th Street.

Authorities say a witness identified the suspected vehicle as a white or off-white late 90’s Chevrolet pickup with a short box, and tires in the bed. Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact the Howard County Sheriff’s Office at 563-547-3535.
