Your summer driving is going the costliest its been in several years.
According to AAA, the Auto Club Group, the average price of a gallon of gas in Iowa has reached $3 for the first time in more than six years. That reflects an average price jump of 14 cents per gallon from one month ago and 90 cents higher than this time last year.
Driving north into Minnesota is going to cost you about the same while the national average for a gallon of gas is $3.16. The higher gas prices reflect an increased demand for gas with more Americans driving this year without the COVID restrictions of last summer.
