Four Injured in Two-Vehicle Wreck Sunday Near Waverly

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck northeast of Waverly Sunday afternoon.

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office says the collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 63 and County Road 33 shortly after 2:30 p.m.  A 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Duane Flynn of Clarksville was traveling eastbound on C-33 and failed to stop before proceeding through the intersection. Flynn’s vehicle was then struck by a 1995 Ford Ranger driven by Katelyn Bartels of Fredericksburg southbound on Highway 63.  

Both drivers and two additional passengers were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.  The accident remains under investigation.  

The Iowa State Patrol, Tripoli Fire, Tripoli Ambulance, Tripoli Police Department, Denver Ambulance, Frederika First Responders, and AirCare also assisted at the scene.
