Ionia Fun Days Friday and Saturday

It’s a “Birthday Bash” for this year’s return of Ionia Fun Days this weekend after a year off due to COVID-19.

The Chickasaw County town is 130 years old this year and Fun Days organizer Heather Hackman says the celebration starts Friday evening with the community supper on Main Street from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by the crowning of Little Miss and Mister Ionia and a new crowd favorite at 7 p.m.

Friday night closes with country singer, Jesse Allen, performing from 9 to midnight. Saturday night’s live music is provided by classic rock cover band, Redline, also from 9 to midnight.

Hackman says one new addition to this year’s lineup is the two-way parade starting at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
