Worth County Sheriff’s Office Issues Mail Scam Alert

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of a possible mail scam.

In a Facebook post Thursday, the sheriff’s office said, “Worth County Citizens are receiving postal mail cards informing them that their Home Warranty Replacement is expired and they need to call the number and renew right away. It may have a picture of your property on the card. THIS IS A SCAM and unless you know that you do business with a certain company you should never respond to these mailed cards, phone calls, or emails.”

The post also reads, “Bad people are after your money and will try many ways to trick you into giving it to them. ALWAYS question and be on the lookout for scams.”

Anyone with questions or concerns they’ve been targeted by the scammers should contact the Worth County Sheriff’s Office.
