Cresco Hospital Enacts New COVID Restrictions

Regional Health Services of Howard County (RHSHC) has implemented COVID restrictions for visitors effective as of Wednesday (08.11).

The safety protocols include allowing only one visitor or support person to be with a patient per 24 hour period in all areas of the Cresco hospital. The restrictions apply to, but are not limited to, the ER, outpatient services, hospital, OB, and clinics.

A hospital Facebook post also says OB and medical surgery visitors must be 18 years or older, although some exceptions may apply, such as end of life or comfort care. Decisions will be determined on a case by case evaluation.

COVID positive patients at RHSHC may not have visitors unless determined differently by the provider/care team. Patients awaiting results of a COVID-19 test, will not be allowed visitors until test results have come back negative.

A separate hospital Facebook post also issued a scam reminder to the public that “Regional Health Services or Howard County Public Health will call and ask for credit card information in order to receive a COVID vaccine. COVID vaccinations are available at no cost to the patient. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be associated with RHSHC that does not seem right, don’t give out any personal information.”

If you receive a call like this, report it to local law enforcement.
