A Mason City man is scheduled to be sentenced in October following his recent convictions on sexual abuse and domestic assault charges related to a variety of incidents in Charles City earflier this year.
A Floyd County District Court trial jury found 34-year-old Wesley Sanders-Lane guilty on two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, Class C felonies; two counts of domestic abuse assault, third or subsequent offense, plus a charge of domestic abuse assault impeding normal breathing of circulation of blood, all Class D felonies. Sanders-Lane was also convicted of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Court records show Sanders-Lane committed the assaults between March and May. His sentencing is scheduled for October 25th.
It’s the latest conviction for Sanders-Lane, who was found guilty of domestic abuse assault in Cerro Gordo County in 2016, domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury in Floyd County in January 2017, and domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness in Webster County in 2019.
