A Charles City man has been charged with domestic abuse assault.
The Charles City Police Department says 37-year-old Patrick Rand was taken into custody shortly after 8:30 a.m. Thursday (08.12) as the result of an investigation that started the day before. Wednesday night (08.11), officers were called to the 100 block of 15th Avenue for a disturbance, but the subject had left the scene before officers arrived just after 10 p.m.. An arrest warrant was requested and executed the following day.
Just before 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Charles City Police received a report of a subject driving by and threatening several juveniles in the 200 block of 7th Avenue; leading to a charge of simple assault against 20-year-old Tanner Hulbert of Charles City with other charges pending.
On Friday, August 6th, Charles City Police responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of South Jackson Street shortly before 6:30 p.m., leading to the arrest of two Charles City men on drug-related charges. 49-year-old Ryan Wiltse of Charles City was wanted on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 50-year-old Donald Fairholm was wanted on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges stemmed from a search warrant conducted previously at a residence in the 300 block of Jackson Street.
On Thursday, August 5th, Charles City Police were called to the 600 block of North Main Street for a report of shoplifting. Two female juveniles were referred to juvenile court services for fifth degree theft.
