A Howard County man is pleading not guilty to assault and other charges after allegedly attacking a female victim in her car last month.
Authorities say shortly before midnight July 15th, 40-year-old Tyler Johnson of Cresco rammed his vehicle into the woman’s vehicle and then struck the her driver’s side window several times with his cellphone. Court records show Johnson had a no-contact order between him and the woman. Further investigation by law enforcement led to the discovery of a rifle in Johnson’s home.
Johnson was arrested and charged with assault, second-degree harassment and being a felon illegally possessing a firearm. He is scheduled to stand trial starting September 29 in Howard County District Court.
