A Butler County woman is dead after her car collided with a semi Thursday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the wreck occurred just after 9:30 a.m. at an intersection about 10 miles northeast of Parkersburg. A semi driven northbound on Ridge Avenue by 20-year-old Dillon Nissen of Reinbeck was slowing to make a left-hand turn onto 300th Street, when the car driven by 82-year-old Mary Vry of Parkersburg crashed into the back driver’s side of the semi trailer.
Vry’s vehicle then rolled into the west ditch and Vry was ejected from the vehicle and killed. She was not wearing a seat belt. Nissen was not harmed.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
