The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists on the county’s roadways that repairs in the wake of last weekend’s flooding are still works in progress.
The sheriff’s office says road conditions are changing on a daily basis and asks drivers for patience as state and county road crews continue to make repairs. Be prepared to slow down when encountering road workers or look for an alternate route to your destination.
The sheriff’s office advises motorists that if there is water over a roadway, please do NOT drive through standing water and do NOT drive around placed barricades. While there may not be water over the roadway, any barricades that have been placed on a road are there for your safety. There are still various washouts that are not safe to travel through.
