A hospital administration official from Pella has been named new Chief Executive Officer at Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) in Charles City.
The FCMC Board of Trustees has selected Dawnett Willis as it’s next CEO, who is expected to assume duties on Monday, October 4th. Willis has over 20 years of healthcare leadership, business development, and operations experience. Most recently, she was the Chief Ancillary/Operations Officer at Pella Regional Medical Center.
Prior to Pella, Willis was Acting CEO at UnityPoint Health in Marshalltown and Regional Strategy, Planning, and Business Development Executive for UnityPoint Health Waterloo Region.
In a statement, Willis says, “I am impressed with how committed the board, the physicians, the employees and staff of FCMC are to the healthcare of our community. I look forward to joining them in moving forward with their goals and vision for the future.”
Willis added she is very impressed by Charles City and has a desire to be involved in the community. Willis grew up in rural northeast Texas, but says she feels Iowa is where she belongs.
She will take over for Mike Anderson, who has served as FCMC’s interim CEO since February. He will remain as the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer.
