Immaculate Conception School in Charles City this week is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
School Board member Lisa Soifer says the school actually has a slightly longer history.
IC Principal Laurie Field says she’s talked with several alumni in remembering the school’s storied background.
The school has been marking the anniversary with various activities throughout the week, including the Chamber Mingle from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Field says the public is welcome and there will be tours every half hour.
IC School’s current enrollment includes 178 students from preschool through sixth grade. Field says students will wrap up the week by filling time capsules to mark the anniversary.
