Like most counties in Iowa, Floyd County has seen the number of positive COVID cases increase since the start of summer.
Floyd County Public Health Administrator Gail Arjes says the county’s positivity rate for the seven- and 14-day period through Wednesday was at 9%. She says while that’s about half of the rate during the height of the pandemic last fall, it could be better.
Arjes says the State Hygienic Laboratory has also confirmed the presence of the Delta variant in the county.
Arjes also reminds residents that Test Iowa COVID home-testing kits are also still available at the public health office in Charles City. Those wanting a kit can pick one up during regular business hours by calling public health upon arrival and staff will bring a kit out to you.
