Thinking He Was in Council Bluffs, Driver Leads North Iowa Authorities on Pursuit 

A motorist who thought he was driving in Council Bluffs, led law enforcement on a pursuit in north Iowa Saturday night.

Clear Lake Police received a 911 call from a motorist who appeared to be confused as to his whereabouts, but was able to provide dispatch personnel his location as drove around the lake with his flashers on. When officers found the vehicle driven by 24-year-old Evac Cave of Council Bluffs, he sped off reaching speeds over 65 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone.

Authorities deployed stop sticks, but Cave continued to drive until eventually being apprehended. Court records show Cave was believed to be under the influence when told officers he thought he was IN Council Bluffs at the time of the incident. 

Cave was being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on numerous charges, including eluding and OWI.
