With the forecast calling for sunny, dry conditions and temperatures in the upper 60s to 70s this weekend, the weather should be great for activities in the great outdoors.
Floyd County Conservation Naturalist Heid Reams suggests taking a “story walk” .
Reams also reminds patrons that camping season at Floyd County parka is winding down.
Reams adds that the visitors center at the Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve near Rockford will close for the season October 31st, but the park will remain open all year round.

Chickasaw County Conservation reports that Howard’s Woods timber and park area just north of Nashua, closed since the last weekend of August when flooding damaged the boat ramps, has been reopened since Monday.
