Slots Still Available for Tours of New Floyd County Law Enforcement Center

Slots are still available for this week’s tours of the new Floyd County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Charles City.

Tours of the new facility will be conducted this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, which Board of Supervisors Chair Linda Tjaden said during a workshop session Monday can only be done in person.

Tjaden says she would like to see the tour slots filled up to see the new LEC that has taken almost two years to build. Friday’s tour schedule has the most slots still available and can be reserved by calling the county auditor’s office at 641-257-6131.

Tjaden added that if time allows, they may offer more tours, but none have been scheduled after this week.  Officials hope to start moving inmates to the new jail by the end of this month.
