Charles City Rotary Club Scrap Metal Drive Continues

Residents within Charles City or near city limits are welcome to donate items that contain metal to the Charles City Rotary Club’s third annual scrap metal fundraiser.

The club’s Chris Garden says the campaign started as a fundraiser, but it’s grown from there.

Garden says items containing metal as well as aluminum can be dropped off at Tynan’s Recycling at 1100 13th Avenue through October 17th.  He adds that they will take televisions for a $10 fee, which covers their cost to take the TVs to the landfill.

Garden says the price currently being paid for scrap metal makes it a good time for the club’s fundraising efforts.

For more information or to arrange for pickup, call L and J Industries in Charles City at 641-228-1753.
