Early October Fire In New Hampton Considered “Suspicious”

A house fire in New Hampton earlier this month is being considered suspicious.

The New Hampton Fire Department responded to 114 East Prospect Street at approximately 6:30 a.m. Monday October 4th. The fire was quickly extinguished with mutual aid from the North Washington and Fredericksburg fire departments.

New Hampton Fire Chief Toby Schwickerath says there were no injuries reported with the fire and the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, which has been determined to be suspicious in nature. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The New Hampton Police Department, Chickasaw Ambulance Service and Chickasaw Rescue Squad also assisted at the scene.
