Bremer County Man Arrested in Charles City on Multiple Warrants

A Bremer County man was arrested Sunday in Charles City on multiple warrants.

The Charles City Police Department says they received a report of a suspicious person in the 2100 block of Clark Street just before noon.  An investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Austin Halstead-Clark of Tripoli, who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants including contempt of court in Fayette County, probation violation in Bremer County, failure to appear for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana in Black Hawk County, and failure to appear for burglary and interference with official acts in Story County.

Halstead-Clark could also face additional charges associated with his arrest in Charles City over the weekend. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with his apprehension.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Monday night, Charles City Police assisted the New Hampton Police Department with a report of a stolen 2002 Chevy Tahoe that was on its way to or already in Charles City. A CCPD officer located the vehicle in the 100 block of Blunt Parkway, resulting in the arrest of 28-year-old Micala Janssen of New Hampton for driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. Additional charges are pending.
