The two candidates for Charles City Mayor met in a forum Wednesday night hosted by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Chamber of Commerce.
The candidates were asked what’s the most valuable skill they bring to the position. Incumbent Dean Andrews, seeking a second four-year term, promoted his time in city government.
Challenger Richard Severin, a 1981 Charles City grad, touted his leadership.
The forum also included the two candidates for the two seats opening up on the City Council, with incumbent DeLaine Freeseman running for election and Patrick Lumley looking to become a first-time councilman.
Both city and school board elections for Charles City are on November 2nd.
