Positive COVID Cases Down for Most North Iowa Counties During Latest Reporting Period

The number of new positive COVID cases for most north Iowa counties was down for the latest seven-day reporting period ending Tuesday, October 19, when compared to the week before.

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) coronavirus dashboard shows 46 new positive COVID cases in Floyd County this week, down from 62 the reporting period the week prior. During the same time frame, Chickasaw County was also down, from 43 to 27.

Cerro Gordo County leads the area again with 101 new positive COVID cases this week, but down from 122 a week earlier. Also dropping:  Bremer at 31, down from 59;  Howard County at 21, down from 23;  Winneshiek at 16, down from 33; Mitchell at 15, down from 35; Worth at 13, also down from 35; and Franklin County, down from 31 to just 8, the lowest number of new positive COVID tests for the region.

Seeing slight increases from the week before was Fayette County at 69, up from 66; and Butler County at 33, up from 30
