Two deer caused a one-vehicle rollover crash southeast of Mason City Thursday night resulting in injuries to the driver and a passenger.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the wreck in the 13000 block of Thrush Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m. The driver, 20-year-old Terrance Matlock of Rockwell, told authorities he struck one deer and while trying to avoid hitting a second deer, lost control of his Chevy Malibu. The vehicle then went into the ditch and rolled multiple times.
Matlock and 18-year-old Anna Yerman of Latimer, were evaluated for minor injuries by Mason City Fire Medics, but neither was transported from the scene.
The vehicle was deemed a total loss.
